Admissions
Thank you for considering our school for your child. Our school admissions are coordinated by Derbyshire County Council.
The Governing Body of Horsley Church of England applies the regulations on admissions fairly and equally to all those who wish to attend this school.
If your child is starting school for the first time there is one intake for the Reception group at the start of the Autumn term in September. The Local Education Authority (Derbyshire County Council) is required to co-ordinate admissions to all Derbyshire Primary, Infant and Junior Schools. Parents are able to express a preference to one, two or three schools and to place those preferences in rank order. Parents must make their application on a common application form, to be returned directly to Derbyshire County Council, and give reasons for their preferred schools.
Online admissions can be made here. Derbyshire County Council
You can apply online to change schools at a time other than when your child is due to start infant, junior, primary or secondary school. This is called an in-year application for admission to school. In- Year admissions can be made here: In-Year Admissions
Derbyshire County Council prefer you to apply online but if you are unable to do this, then telephone: 01629 537479 and ask for a paper application form (form AF5).
At the end of April parents will receive a letter of offer and, if you applied online, you can view your offer online from this date.
If you wish to visit our school and the many learning opportunities we offer, please telephone 01332 880782 6 or email the school office info@horsleycofeprimary.school to arrange a mutually convenient time.
For admission into Reception each September, the LA, on behalf of the Governing Body, will offer places to a set number of children. This is the Published Admission Number (PAN) for that year group. For our school it is 14.
